I Semana Brasileira de Montanhismo - 100 anos de Montanhismo no Brasil

Em 2012 vai fazer 100 anos que o montanhismo começou a ser praticado no Brasil, tendo como marco simbólico a conquista do Dedo de Deus, na Serra dos Órgãos (RJ).
Venha festejar o centenário na 1ª Semana Brasileira de Montanhismo**, um grande evento que vai acontecer na Urca, Rio de Janeiro, entre 23 de abril e 1º de maio de 2012.
Além de reunir toda a comunidade de montanhistas e admiradores em geral, o evento visa também: (1) honrar o compromisso das entidades com a ética de montanha e a proteção do meio ambiente e (2) organizar o futuro do montanhismo e da escalada no Brasil. Por isso, a Semana vai congregar uma série de eventos:
2º Congresso Brasileiro de Montanhismo e Escalada.
2º Encontro de Parques de Montanha do Brasil.
1º Encontro de Pesquisas Sobre Uso e Conservação de Montanhas.
25ª Abertura de Temporada de Montanhismo (ATM)*.
Campeonato Brasileiro de Escalada Esportiva.
Cine Montanha na Praça*.
Curso: Acesso e Conservação em Áreas de Montanhismo.
Exposição “Cem Anos de Montanhismo no Brasil”*.
Exposição fotográfica*.
Palestras com atletas internacionais convidados.
Workshops de segurança em escalada.

    The 2012 UIAA Ice Climbing World Cup which only has one remaining stop in Russia in March has been a story of Russian dominance and personal comebacks. In the Mens Lead competition Austrian climber Markus Bendler, after a disappointing start in South Korea and Switzerland, roared back to win a difficult route in Busteni, Romania.   • RedFox to sponsor UIAA Ice Climbing World Cup 2012
    The UIAA is proud to announce that RedFox Outdoor Equipment , a Russian sportswear and equipment company, has become of a sponsor of its ice climbing program. Based in Saint Petersburg, the company founded by Vladislav Moroz and Alexander Glushkovsky, both high-level climbers, manufactures a wide range of outdoor products under a number of international brand names. Moroz said he hoped his company's involvement with the UIAA and the Russian Mountaineering Federation would give a boost to the sport and the quest for ice climbing to become an event in the Winter Olympics.   • Global Youth Summit held in Nepal for first time
    Participants of the UIAA Global Youth Summit held in Khumjung, Nepal. Photo by Nikolay Radosnov The village of Khumjung, Nepal, that lies nestled in the shadow of Mount Everest, was the newest venue for the UIAA's expanding series of Global Youth Summit events. Organized by Dawa Steven Sherpa of the Nepal Mountaineering Foundation and Tshering Sherpa, President Khumjung Youth Club, this year's eight day event for young climbers from Mongolia, South Africa, India and Nepal concluded on 28 November 2011. Musa Ibrahim, a young mountaineer from Bangladesh who has climbed Mount Everest attended the opening ceremony.     The 2012 European calendar is now official and available in the IFSC global calendar:

  • Athletes License 2012

    Now avaialble the Athletes License 2012

    The applications for the Athletes License 2012 are now open.

    Starting form this year the Athletes License form includes also specific reference to the IFSC Code of Conduct on Sports Betting Integrity, that all Athletes are required to read and sign when applying for the license.
